While yes, Tank committed a pretty serious offense - having large amounts of illegal firearms in his home - he has been straight arrow since. Additionally, beforehand he didnt do that much.

Personally, I think that offenses such as Tank's, where he is not going looking for trouble - by getting into bar fights, shouting homophobic remarks and the like (interestingly enough, offenses white players have largely gotten away with) - are different than the aggressive thrill seeking offenses. Frankly, if Tank's house hadn't of been raided, this wouldnt have been a big deal. YES, he broke the law, but the law came after him, not the other way around.
In the end, hopefully Tank will be in tip-top shape when the Bears need him towards the middle of the season when their starting Defensive Tackle gets injured, again.
